    Individual/ Adult Therapy

Are you having a difficult time handling the struggles in your life? Could you use an expert opinion on what you’re going through, or a non-judgmental ear just to listen? Do you think you could benefit the most from individualized attention? Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you’ve been seeking. Individual therapy differs from group or alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.

    Child & Adolescent Therapy

Does your child have trouble dealing with their emotions? Is their behavior sometimes disruptive to your home life? Have they experienced sudden loss or trauma? As they grow, children and adolescents develop social skills and emotional intelligence. This awareness helps them to develop into healthy, happy, and successful individuals. But some children have trouble processing their emotions and this often leads to behavior that negatively impacts their school life, home life, and overall well-being.

    Family Therapy

Family therapy with a trained systems therapist can help family members better understand how their interactions affect each other and the world around them. It can also help to develop new and more effective ways of engaging.  Family based sessions can be helpful for families with a variety of struggles, including:

    • Communication problems: Families can learn how to communicate more effectively with each other.

    • Behavioral problems at home or school: Families can develop strategies for dealing with behavioral or emotional struggles in children and adolescents.

    • Divorce or Remarriage: To cope with the challenges of life changes.

At Anderson Counseling and Wellness, we understand that every family has its own strengths and struggles. Family therapy provides a supportive space to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen connections between parents, children, and loved ones.

Our licensed therapists help families work through challenges such as parenting stress, sibling conflict, blended family adjustments, grief, behavioral concerns, and the impact of anxiety, depression, or trauma on family life. Sessions are designed to give each member a voice while building healthier patterns of interaction at home.

Family counseling is not about placing blame—it’s about creating understanding, respect, and stronger relationships. Together, we help families navigate difficult times, foster resilience, and develop tools that support long-term growth and harmony.

Beyond Hyperactivity: A Therapist's Guide to Childhood ADHD

This training is for providers working with ADHD children and would like to learn more!

    ADHD Counseling

We all know people who can’t sit still, who never seem to listen, who blurt out inappropriate comments or don’t follow instructions no matter how clearly you present them. While it’s normal to forget homework, daydream during class or act without thinking, inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity are also signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD. ADHD makes it difficult for a person to inhibit their spontaneous responses, including everything from movement to speech to assertiveness.

Avoidant Restrictive Feeding Intake Disorder (ARFID)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder

As of 5/2025, I also offer a CBT program for individuals with avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (CBT-AR) ages ten and up. CBT-AR was developed at Mass General focusing on normalizing eating, increasing macronutrient intake via food intake rather than dietary supplements and (if needed) restoring weight and growth. CBT-AR works by targeting the reasons behind the avoidant/restrictive eating: including sensory sensitivities, lack of interest in eating and/or fear of aversive consequences of eating by using exposure-based techniques.

CBT-AR can be delivered in an individual or family-based format depending on client age and treatment goals. CBT-AR is designed to last 20-30 sessions over 6-12 months.

Ideally CBT-AR would be delivered in tandem with a qualified Registered Dietician to allow the most impactful change.
